Victory Lane’s purpose is to build relationships around families raising children with disabilities. The mission is to take the relationships that begin at camp and allow them to develop into life-long friendships. As part of the mission, Victory Lane coordinates connection opportunities year-round to help foster these friendships. These opportunities are made possible by our generous donors.
The annual Men’s Recharge event is designed for the father figures in the Victory Lane community. This activity serves as a chance for the men to unwind, decompress, and spend time with their friends. This year, the men gathered at Top Golf for an evening of connection, fellowship, and swinging a few golf clubs. Victory Lane donors, The Kiwanis Club, covered half the cost for the men, which made it an affordable evening for those who attended.
“Men like to do things when they get together, so Top Golf was a perfect way to reconnect,” noted Brett Fischer. “Top Golf provided a unique opportunity for socialization outdoors and helped us men reconnect during a stressful year.”
During the event, the men shared with one another how grateful they are for their Victory Lane family. The guys understand one another and what their daily lives look like. The Men’s Recharge was a great night for the men to take a breath and have fun with their friends.
“I’m so thankful for my Victory Lane family,” added Jimmy Schlink. “I love my son, but I also enjoy getting to hang out and spend time with my friends.”
As Victory Lane continues to build through the new year, Brett is looking forward to more frequent, smaller gatherings with the Victory Lane community along with the summer camp session.
