As a parent, Chrissy McComas wanted to reinforce to her children the value of being a friend to everyone. She taught them that even if they are the only one standing up, they need to stand up for what is right. Victory Lane gave her the opportunity to continue to stress the importance of this to her children.

“We reached out to Victory Lane because I was looking for a service opportunity that my entire family could participate in,” Chrissy explained. “It fit into our values and we were so happy to come alongside!”

Chrissy described the week with Victory Lane as, “a unique opportunity for families to come together for a summer camp opportunity.” She loved watching her family sing every night at the campfire with their new friends. It was also nice getting to enjoy a few days of screen-free outdoor quality time together.

The McComas family enjoyed bonding with the Victory Family they were paired with. The children had a great time playing together and seeing a glimpse of each other’s lives. Even though the weather was not ideal, they still found themselves outside playing gaga ball and carpetball- as a family.

“I hope we were a blessing to our paired family as they were to us,” Chrissy continued. “We had so much fun getting to know them, and it was an experience my family needed.”
